Staff

Within the CFE, there is a dedicated team of people who teach and support our students. Each one has particular responsibilities in relation to student achievement, progression and welfare.

Mr Joe Ryan, Director of CFE

Mr Ryan has overall responsibility for the CFE. He is also the Curriculum Leader for Psychology and teaches this subject, as well as Business and Extended Project.

Mrs Carol Gibson-Smith, Head of CFE

Mrs Gibson-Smith is the Head of CFE. She oversees all attendance and pastoral issues relating to Year 12 and 13 students, as well as teaching and being Curriculum Leader for Food Technology.

Mr Philip Cunningham, Vocational Subject Leader and Year 13 Form Adviser

Mr Cunningham delivers careers advice and guidance to all the CFE students. He provides support with UCAS and Apprenticeship applications, as well as arranging employability skills training. He also teaches a number of our vocational subjects including Criminology and Enterprise.

Mrs Angela O’Sullivan, Health & Social Care Teacher and Year 12 Form Adviser

Mrs O’Sullivan provides pastoral support to her form members, as well as teaching Health & Social Care  GCSE, A Level and BTEC.

Mrs Alexandra Simmons, Psychology Teacher and Year 13 Form Adviser

Mrs Simmons provides pastoral support to her form members, as well as teaching Psychology GCSE and A Level.

Ms J Barten, English Teacher and Year 12 Form Adviser

Ms Barten provides pastoral support to her form members, as well as teaching English. 

Mr L Churchward, Curriculum Leader PE and Year 12 Form Adviser

Mr Churchward provides pastoral support to his form members as well as being Curriculum Leader for PE and teaching GCSE PE.
