The Buckingham School

Pastoral Care

Care for each other is the responsibility of every member of the school community. A particular responsibility for each student is placed with their tutor.  The tutor will remain with the same group, whenever possible, from Year 7 until Year 11. The tutor plays a key role in a student’s overall development, both academic and personal, and is the first point of contact for parents/carers, because they know students individually.  They aim to promote a sense of community, loyalty and belonging to their year group and to the school in general.

We want new students to feel accepted and part of the school community as soon as possible and induction activities help this process.
